Two authentic Japanese rooms in Takinogawa, Kita-ku — where old Tokyo breathes quietly, steps from temples, rivers, and the city's heartbeat.
Takinogawa — "Waterfall River" — is one of Tokyo's most cherished old neighbourhoods, tucked between Sugamo and Oji in Kita Ward. Our two rooms occupy a thoughtfully renovated townhouse that honours the spirit of the place: quiet, unhurried, deeply Japanese.
Each room is individually designed, blending traditional tatami culture with the comforts modern travellers expect. Guests often say they've found the Tokyo they were looking for here.

Each room tells its own story. Both share the same spirit of ma — the Japanese art of meaningful space.
A comfortable, self-contained room on the upper floor of our Takinogawa townhouse, with a relaxing lounge area featuring a black leather sofa bed — ideal for a third guest or simply unwinding after a day out. The sleeping area has a cosy bed with under-bed storage, and large windows let you look up to the open sky, bringing a sense of calm and space. The room also includes a compact kitchenette with electric cooktop and mini fridge, a Japanese washlet toilet, air conditioning, and a private balcony. Perfect for solo travellers, couples, or a small group of three.
